Artistic Interest

AREAS of paving and tiling at this smart Lakelands house have been embellished with art by its co-owner, the accomplished potter Vesna Majchrzak.

It is because of her art interests that the house is up for sale at $367,500. Mrs Majchrzak, her husband, Ron, and their children, plan to travel to Umbria in central Italy so that she can study traditional painted pottery.

The cement rendered brick house with a terra cotta tile roof sits on a large block of more than 1200sq metres.

Its paved portico at the front gives way to a large and comfortable lounge/living area. This in turn flows through leadlight french doors to the polished floorboards of the family room and the adjacent kitchen.

Other notable aspects of the kitchen include feature colour cupboards (a design trend in the United States), a kitchen bench top with a high surround where it abuts the family room, and seating for one beneath the bench top ? Vesna thinks it's good place for a visitor while she is using the kitchen.

Adjoining the kitchen is a walk-in pantry, and a laundry that has access to the backyard by way of an impressively long and wide balcony. The family room also opens onto this balcony.

Three of the house's four bedrooms, including the master bedroom with an en suite, are off a hallway from the family room. Each bedroom has built-in robes.

The hallway continues around the dining room and gives way to a powder room and an attractive bathroom. Past there, the hallway gives access to the double garage and an adjoining workshop.

The fourth bedroom adjoins the lounge room at the other side of the house. Outside the house at the back, and beneath the master bedroom, is an art studio complete with porch.
